I have no idea whether Salmonella spp or Shigella spp exist for your kingdom,
but some facts for ur scientist, if your SHIT is cultured on XLD agar plates,
Red with black dots culture are denoted as Salmonella while red colonies are just Shigella spp.
Both are non lactose fermenters on MacConkey.
Maybe it isn't bacteria colonised.

Probably you might have been comsuming some Ancylostoma duodenale or Necator americanus rhabditiform larvae in the soil.
